Rest Easy Knowing ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through resteasyknowing.com.au (the "Site") and how we handle it. As a small business, we are not required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), but we choose to follow its principles as good practice.
What we collect
We collect minimal personal information. Specifically:
- Contact details you choose to reveal. The Site includes a bot-protected feature that reveals a contact email address after you complete a short verification check. We don't collect or store anything from this interaction — it simply unlocks an email address for you to use in your own email client.
- Automated technical data. Our bot-protection provider (Cloudflare Turnstile) processes some technical information (such as browser and device signals) to confirm you're human. This is handled by Cloudflare, not stored by us. See Cloudflare's own privacy policy for details on what they collect: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
- Podcast listening. If you listen to our podcast through Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or another platform, that platform's own privacy policy applies to your listening data — we don't receive or see this information.
We do not currently use analytics or tracking cookies on this Site.
We do not operate user accounts, and we don't ask visitors to submit forms, sign up, or provide personal details directly to us through the Site.
How we use information
Since we don't collect meaningful personal information through the Site itself, we have very little to use. Any email correspondence you initiate with us (after revealing the contact address) is used only to respond to your enquiry, and is handled the same way as any private email.
Third parties
We use the following services to run the Site, each with their own privacy practices:
- Cloudflare (hosting and bot protection) — https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
- Buzzsprout (podcast hosting and distribution) — https://www.buzzsprout.com/privacy
- Supabase (backend infrastructure) — used to store website content, including photos of podcast guests supplied to us directly by the guests themselves for use on the Site. This does not include any information submitted by Site visitors. See https://supabase.com/privacy
Your rights
Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to request correction or deletion. Given how little we collect, this is likely to be limited to any email correspondence. Contact us via the email address on the Site to make a request.
